Actually, “G Minor House,” this contemporary Zapopan, Mexico, dwelling by Hernandez Silva Arquitectura is a study in bold swatches of color, clean lines, and an abundance of intriguing visual and spatial components — with a certain playfulness as well (note the “monkey” graphic on 1 upstairs wall). Its several levels are encased in walls of glass, allowing for ample views, yet at the same time protected by grilles, louvers, and other screening components for needed privacy these very same levels are bathed in indirect and outside light by evening, providing the property a friendly glow as the interior colors reflect outward. At the back of the house, largely protected by a flat black wall, you can see the lawn “continue” in an interior courtyard this location, in turn, segues the indoor/outdoor living aspects of the residence with tiny fuss.
From the white limestone patio, proceed by means of the home’s open-air lounge space to a spacious living and dining location with a lot of seating for a crowd. Colors here are warms against neutrals: vibrant red and violet cushions, the black wall, wood grain chairs with subtle blue upholstery. Furnishings and finishes are contemporary and intriguing — a glass-topped coffee table more than a purple rug with red highlighting makes it seem as if a red “border” floats just above the floor!
