But that’s what Italy’s Nidi Design has been doing for years: giving children furniture and area plans they can really like, with components, colors, and function their parents can reside with as effectively. Right here, in the room Nidi calls “f,” we see an ensemble based on Nidi’s “Woody” collection, accented by accessories in such hues as “tomato.” The simple palette is neutral — a hue Nidi calls “hemp” — and forms a wonderful backdrop for anything a youngster wants to bring into the room. Swimming Pool Ceramics

The designers say it very best: “Fountains give life to gardens and urban spaces…” And they’re correct, as you can see by these examples brought to brilliant life by Wales firm Craig Bragdy Design. Water features of numerous types, be they cascades or “waterwalls,” are refreshing focal points that can add colour, reflect sunlight, or hide a much less-than-desirable view outside the garden. Long semi-circular “channels” can serve as gathering areas in a hotel or commercial developing lobby, with mosaic styles that complement the building’s décor. In numerous of these situations, the “channel” differentiates locations of a lobby or foyer from 1 yet another: inside the circle, a spot for dining or beverages, and outdoors it, shops or other organization issues. When you want a divider, handful of factors are more elegant than a body of water!

A spa, on the other hand, can really feel like a mere add-on to a lap pool — unless it has the charm of some of these examples. Take a look at spa methods that are literally color-infused staircases into tiny pools with “shells” on the bottom. You can have spas with flowered “floors,” swirled pastel paisley-influenced borders, or stylized flowers all around the bench seating spots. Colors? The sky — or possibly we must say the visible spectrum! — is the limit: blues might be expected in a spa, but pale pinks, lavenders, and even reds and oranges also appear fabulous. How about an asymmetrical spa with a “sunburst” at its heart — or a “garden” of crystals at its core? Colorful, lively, or serene, it is up to you: let these designs give you inspiration for your personal particular water “spot.”

Kitchen Facelift in a Lakefront Home with Carla Aston Design Studio

This lakefront home had a kitchen and breakfast room that needed a facelift from its dated 1990s-era appear enter this fresh, airy therapy by Carla Aston Design and style Studio. As the designer explains, “Glossy little tile, dated wall covering and window therapies, tired cabinetry, [and] mauve strong surface counters and splash have been out.” And, of course, the redo presented a couple of challenges: the backsplash had awkwardly placed outlets and switches, solved by adding colour to camouflage ones that couldn’t be very easily moved to lessen possible visual “clutter.” To complement the owner’s dark granite, Aston added fascinating detailing — legs and paneling on the island, and brackets and seed glass panels to some upper cabinets. The designer even reused and reupholstered existing furniture, like repainting bar stools!

The corner fireplace was subsequent — a function that was a bit “lost in the shuffle” until it was covered in floor-to-ceiling travertine and became, as Ms. Aston calls it, a “star.” Neutral marble in the shower, with clear glass doors, could have made for a ho-hum impact — except for that nice black-and-white tile accent in the middle of the back wall. 2 high windows supply lots of all-natural light in the bath, although a third window more than the deep tub is discreetly shaded. The true “star” of this residence, however, is its lovely view, which was highlighted with added skilled use of color on window frames and curtains that don’t get in the way. The outcome? The homeowner was so pleased that she hired Carla Aston Design to do much more operate on her home at a later date!
