Are you a country girl longing for a farm wedding? Then you’ll enjoy this album of photographs against the backdrop of a family farm in Livingston, Alabama, as presented by Stephen DeVries. The bride takes some time for a sweet up-do and some tendrils her dress is a confection of feathery white lace, and her maids are dressed in a assortment of gowns in pale mauve, purple, and cream. Pinning her veil to the back of her curls, the bride shows off a bouquet that looks fresh-gathered from the garden and trailing wide gold ribbons in the May sunlight, her smile is as radiant as the sky. An arbor is set up for the outdoor ceremony, marked with fence posts topped with wild flowers wedding applications are tucked into a basket and edged with more gold ribbon.
The groom’s tan suiting looks fresh and cool he and his males put on pale blue-gray ties. The ring bearer does not require a tie — he’s currently carrying valuable cargo — and the flower girl is a tiny vision in white chiffon. Once the vows are mentioned, household photographs are taken on the hillside, and then the celebration makes its way up the hill to a tented pavilion for the celebration. As the sun sets, the dancing starts — and the bride and groom reduce a neat figure on the wood dance floor. Amid feasting, cake cutting, and colored lights, the party is complete of laughter and much more than a handful of hijinks. But at final, as the stars come out, the music softens, the household wraps the newlyweds in a hug, and the sky fills with fireworks…a spectacular ending to a spring wedding day.
