Perhaps you have never ever thought of Thanksgiving colors as which includes blue. But think again: the shade of a winter sky, autumn shadows, or even a touch of frost can lend some particular flair to your Thanksgiving property décor this year. Blue antique lanterns are terrific fall décor with white candles to light your guests’ path — possibly to a feast to which you’ve invited them with blue-and-beige sepia-effect cards. Autumn bouquets are visually softer in a blue vase use blue napkins and natural wood napkin rings for a rustic appear. You can even spray paint a pumpkin blue, add a touch of glitter — then listen for the “oohs” and “aahs”! Blue candles against a silvery-blue tablecloth, with white china and gleaming crystal, say “elegant” any time of year.

Got autumn leaves? Paint a couple of of them blue, scatter them with brown and orange leaves in a random garland, and back it all with a pale blue runner down the center of your table. Or, set a table in conventional browns and beige china — with deep blue glassware, candleholders, or service plates. Napkins and tablecloths come in a wide variety of blues, from peacock to royal to electric — pick 1, pop a handful of orange pumpkins about as ornaments, and feel the power level rise. And speaking of peacocks…if you’re decorating with feathers, spice up these brown collections with a peacock or blue jay feather, and watch the smiles. Lastly, use china and flowers that are blue classics, such as Blue Willow or hydrangea. Yes, you can enjoy a case of the “blues” at the holidays — so have fun with it!
